About World-Check

World-Check risk intelligence reduces customer exposure to potential threats posed by the organisations and the people they do business with. More than 5,400 institutions, including over 49 of the world's top 50 banks and 200 enforcement and regulatory agencies, rely on the World-Check database of known heightened-risk individuals and businesses to efficiently screen their customers, associates, transactions and employees for potential risk.

World-Check's research department methodically profiles individuals and entities deemed worthy of enhanced scrutiny, as well as occurrences of fraud, corruption, terrorism, money laundering, narcotics trafficking and many other types of financial crime. Their highly structured database is regularly updated and derived from thousands of reliable public sources.

The challenge for Gungho

Gungho Marketing was asked to provide lead generation services to the UK sales team for World-Check in 2007. Working closely with senior management, Gungho became integrated with the sales team and set about identifying new business opportunities across a range of different vertical and geographic markets.

Gungho's success is built upon its ability to create a bespoke list of prospects across a range of different market segments, working like business analysts to profile prospective target audiences, create a database, identify job titles and find contact details. Prospects are contacted and carefully nurtured to analyse the opportunity for World-Check. Only when there is a real sense of need for World-Check would the Gungho team schedule an appointment. Gungho nurture the lead generation cycle until the contact is qualified.

The outcome

Working closely with the sales team Gungho is regularly relied upon to:

  • Build a pipeline of prospects in a new geographic market
  • Book appointments in the diary for a foreign trip to a new or emerging market
  • Follow up delegates at national and international events, determining their interest and progressing the discussion to a Webex or face-to-face meeting
  • Invite people to events, webinars, briefings and seminars, making sure the room is full of relevant, interested parties!
